Hi Laura,

Absolutely! Most of that research will happen up-front when you and your client discuss the elements of the project, the goal, the benefit to consumer, the target audience, etc., but if you’ve got new projects kicking off every few days, you’ll be having that conversation every few days, too! (Content writing—blog posts and articles, as opposed to copywriting—tends to require that daily research element.)

Hi Nicki, great post! I love how you mention the positives of all tasks, even those that may not seem interesting or creative at first. I would say copywriters also spend a good portion of their time researching the topics they’re writing about and contrasting info, wouldn’t you agree?
