8 Must-Listen Podcasts to Amp Up Your Digital Marketing Knowledge

By Nicki Krawczyk 2 Comments

A woman sitting on a couch listening to something through headphones.

If you want to stay on top of your game, you can never stop learning.

And thank goodness, right? How boring would life (and our careers) be if we never had to learn anything new?

Well, good news. As copywriters, we’re in the world of digital marketing and that world is always changing and developing. With new sites, programs, and even means of communication (hello, chatbots!) emerging all the time, it’s up to us to stay on top of it.

It’s also up to us to stay on top of which digital marketing techniques are working, which are worth trying, and which just don’t seem to work anymore. (Or, at least, which don’t seem to be working for the moment.)

So, to that end, I’ve put together a list of podcasts to help you stay on top of your game. One of the reasons I love podcasts so much is that they’re so portable—I can listen around the house or in the car, as I walk to the market or as I wait in line at the bank. And, pro tip, if you listen to them at increased speed, you can get through more even faster.

Here are a few you should strongly consider subscribing to.

The Launch Lab

This one is focused on Facebook and Instagram ads and serves up all kinds of info about strategy as well as keeps you on top of any updates the platforms roll out. Listen here >>

Marketing School

This is a daily podcast, but if that feels like too much commitment, know that the episodes average around 10 minutes or so. The two hosts have both created successful businesses and offer a lot of insight into how they’ve used marketing to build them. Listen here >>

Marketing Your Business

Solopreneurs and small businesses are a big focus for this podcast, so if you have a lot of them on your client roster (or you plan to) it’s a great listen to learn some of the different techniques those small online businesses use as well as to stay on top of what’s new. Listen here >>

Online Marketing Made Easy

Amy Porterfield makes marketing accessible and, yes, even fun. But don’t be fooled: She also offers plenty of advanced-level tactics and techniques. Listen here >>

Social Media Marketing

This is the podcast accompaniment to socialmediaexaminer.com, and I strongly recommend following both carefully. Expect insightful strategies as well as down and dirty tactics. Listen here >> (And while we’re at it, here are my recommendations for who to follow on social media.)

Perpetual Traffic

This one might be just a touch advanced for the newer marketer, but if you want to dive in with both feet, it’s definitely worth a listen. After all, what works for two million-dollar ad accounts might just work for your smaller clients, too. Listen here >>

The Well-Oiled Operations Podcast

Stacy Tuschl runs multiple seven-figure businesses (both online and off) and has dedicated her podcast to helping small businesses to dial in their management and leadership skills (full disclosure: she’s a former client of mine!). Listen here >>

Screw the Nine to Five

Here’s one that will inspire and instruct you for both your clients’ businesses and your own. Though it focuses mostly on digital entrepreneurs, you’ll find tactics and mindset hacks to help you build your copy business, too. Listen on Apple Podcasts or on Spotify >> (Note: they seem to publish new episodes sporadically, but some of the older content still contains plenty of relevant gems!)

BONUS: Build Your Copywriting Business Podcast

Okay, we couldn’t talk about podcasts and not mention Filthy Rich Writer’s own, right?! Subscribe on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or subscribe to our email list so you never miss an episode.

My co-host Kate Sitarz and I do our best to cover a range of topics designed to help new and experienced copywriters grow their copywriting businesses. Specific copywriting tactics, finding clients, pitching tactics, and so much more.

If you take this short quiz, you can get a personalized playlist with must-listen episodes for where you are in your specific copywriting journey.

And, of course, if there’s something specific you want us to record and episode about, we’re all ears. 🙂

And We’re Not Just Tooting Our Own Horn…

The Build Your Copywriting Business podcast was added to FeedSpot’s list of Top 20 Copywriting Podcasts. Podcasts are chosen based on traffic, social media followers, domain authority, and freshness.

And, if you search “copywriting” on Apple podcasts, we’re #1. (The algorithm bases this off listeners, followers, and competition rate of podcast episodes!)

Thank you all for listening and your continued support of the podcast! We can’t believe we have more than one million downloads. We couldn’t have done this without the Filthy Rich Writer community.

    Hi
    Great content!
I’d love to share your articles but the floating social media icons while trying to read the articles is very invasive and annoying. It takes away the joy of reading. Would you consider removing them and placing them elsewhere on your page?
